Hi, I’m JJ Barnes, the heart and soul behind Finger Paint Family. As a mum who’s worn many hats, I’ve poured my love for family, creativity, and the beautiful chaos of parenting into this space to inspire and support families like yours.

My journey as a mum has been a colourful tapestry of experiences. I’ve been a single mum, navigating the world with my daughters on my own, and a married mum, building a blended family with my partner. I’ve cherished quiet days as a stay-at-home mum, soaking up every giggle and milestone, and I’ve juggled the hustle of being a working mum, balancing career and cuddles. From raising one spirited girl to becoming a mum of two incredible daughters, and embracing my role as a stepmum to a wonderful boy, my family has grown and evolved in ways I never imagined.

I’ve rocked babies to sleep, chased toddlers through playgrounds, guided curious children through crafts and adventures, and now I’m navigating the wild, wonderful world of teens. Each stage has taught me something new about love, patience, and the magic of watching kids grow into their own. My passion for creativity and my deep belief in the power of nurturing children’s lives have been the heartbeat of my parenting journey—and the spark that ignited Finger Paint Family.

I created Finger Paint Family to bring all these experiences together in one vibrant, supportive space.
